Volunteer

The contribution made by our volunteers plays a critical role in creating safe, supportive environments where young people and communities can thrive.

I want to volunteer in…

Edmund Rice community Services (ERCS) programs and activities transform lives by building resilience, fostering connections, and promoting personal growth for the children, families, and communities we walk alongside.

Volunteering at ERCS can be very positive experience. Our volunteers develop essential life skills, including leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Volunteering has been shown to improve mental and physical health, reducing rates of depression and stress while enhancing overall well-being. Volunteers often experience increased self-confidence, a sense of purpose, and greater life satisfaction.

All ERCS volunteers receive comprehensive training in areas of safeguarding, cultural awareness, mentoring and behaviour management. Training is conducted through co-design, program planning and logistics. Many volunteers, particularly young adults, find that their time with ERCS equips them with practical skills and that are highly valued in the workforce, or inspires future education goals. The sense of community and belonging fostered through volunteering often leads to lasting relationships and a strong network of support with other volunteers.

ERCS not only drives positive outcomes for our participants but also enriches the lives of the people who volunteer with us – creating a ripple effect of positive change throughout the community.
