ERCS Victoria

In 2024, Edmund Rice Camps Victoria, Edmund Rice Community and Refugee Services, and Edmund Rice Services Mt Atkinson united to form Edmund Rice Community Services Vic. This exciting move harnesses our collective experience, talents, and passions, offering our wonderful volunteers greater opportunities and maximising our resources for improved service delivery.

We believe in the power of connected communities. We are welcoming and inclusive. We seek to listen, learn and respond to the needs of the communities we walk alongside.

Focusing on connecting people and communities, we seek to support strengthening communities and providing an early response to social concerns.

Our offering in Victoria reflects the rich diversity of the communities we engage with. What we do continues to evolve as we respond to the needs of those around us.

What We Do

Edmund Rice Camps

Youth camps Victoria: Edmund Rice Camps provide unique, holistic experiences for children, teens and families. We combine outdoor experiences with trauma-informed and strengths-based practice to build relationships and resilience through our 1:1 ratio of participants to young adult volunteers.

Each year we deliver a range of camps for Kids, Teens or Family Groups as well as offer opportunities for social service agencies to partner with us to deliver a tailored camp experience to their clients.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Group

Designed to support the growth and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Our overarching theme is to build strong leaders, who will have the knowledge and skills to lead in both worlds they walk between and how to navigate the challenges they may face.

Youth Group offer a mix of activities and cultural learning to all school aged children and families from across the west. The group promotes and fosters positive self-esteem and social interaction, build confidence, and enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of the participants. Youth Group is delivered through a partnership between Aboriginal Wellness Foundation, Cooinda and ERCS.

Learning Support Hubs

Our Learning Support Hubs provide literacy and numeracy support for young people from migrant or refugee backgrounds.

With programs running for prep- year 2 and year 3 – year 6, students are supported by staff and volunteers in an encouraging, supportive and fun environment.  The hubs continue to listen and respond to the needs of the local communities and adapt and create new programs.

On Track

A welcoming, regular mountain bike group to help young people in Melbourne’s western suburbs, stay on track or get back on track. This is a fun, adventurous, safe, and physically active program where young people from diverse backgrounds feel safe to be themselves, extend their physical capacity, and set and achieve physical, and emotional, wellbeing goals.

Welcoming Studios

The Mt Atkinson Art Group is an inclusive, welcoming group that respects the diversity of those living in Melbourne’s western suburbs. No experience is required, just a desire to be creative and enjoy the company of others. Sometimes external artists are invited in to teach the group, mostly we draw upon the experience in the group.

Mt Atkinson and Grandview Community Activities

Our activities include mountain bike riding, archery, art, bush cooking, and food growing. These activities not only provide enjoyment but also foster personal development, teamwork, and community cohesion, helping participants build skills, form connections, and develop a sense of belonging.
