ERCS New South Wales

ERCS NSW supports children, young people and families experiencing significant and complex disadvantage and advocates for those who need a voice in the community. Our youth camps NSW are a variety of group-based recreational camps and activities, including week-long and weekend NSW camps and day programs. Program outcomes are focused around a child’s ability to build healthy relationships, affirm their peers, develop soft skills, and renew their confidence and self-worth.

New South Wales Programs

Our camps provide both single-day and multi-day experiences through our age-specific GROW, REACH, and LEAD programs. Additionally, our Eddie Explorer activities ensure consistent local engagement, offering new experiences each month. Our Head to Heart programs lay a strong foundation for primary school children, while also providing unique leadership opportunities for senior school students.

Edmund Rice Camps

Imagine having the experience that every day one person is giving their time and attention to support your goals, to ensure you have fun, and expand what you believe is possible. What might change?

Participants are specifically buddied with volunteer mentors for the duration of the program, consisting of games and team- building activities. Our 1:1 ratio with participants and volunteers is further supported by a leadership team.

Post-Camp Picnic Days

Picnic Days are a special one-day program designed to reunite all the children and volunteers from each camp once they have returned to normal life.

These events are held 4-6 weeks after the week-long camp they attended and are a great chance to renew friendships, remember the things we learned on camp, and have a few sausages on the BBQ!

Picnic Days are a wonderful experience to feel alike a part of the Edmund Rice Camps NSW community for both participants and volunteers alike.

LEAD (Suitable for teens aged 13-16)

3-day camp for teens, providing support to young people experiencing social and economic disadvantages. Through engagement with mentors, campers gain a sense of belonging, build leadership skills, increase personal capacity toward self-determination, and create aspirational goals for the future.

We don’t match our teens too tightly with a buddy, to allow for a more organic approach to peer-mentoring, where participants are free to connect with those that they have things in common with.

Eddie Explorers program

Fun multi-day programs in a one-day format. Pairing groups of 5 participants with 7 volunteer leaders, the teams enjoy an activity day where they are supported to try new experiences, build relationships, create a sense of belonging and connection, and have fun.

Head 2 Heart

Our schools partner program is targeted to lessen the impact of disadvantage, and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) – abuse, neglect, trauma, parental alcohol and drug use, maltreatment – by promoting protective factors to reduce the likelihood of harm and build resilience.

We have a day program and overnight program subject to location.
